Another update on comments

I only just got home and am too tired to do a real post (a LOT of stuff has happened in the past few days so I will definitely post tomorrow) but I wanted to say comments are open again. Even anonymous ones. I got a PM on VJ that convinced me this was the right thing to do. So please try to be polite!

Till tomorrow.

  1. My guess is that you got annoyed that nobody had commented in a few days and couldn't deal with the lack of attention.

  2. Was there really any need for that, Anonymous. Is your life really that empty that you feel the need to criticize every post that Melissa writes.
I, for one, am very happy that Melissa has decided to continue with this blog. I originally started to follow, as a means of seeing how both, Melissa and Julian get along with the immigration process. The fact that we get an insight into Melissas every day life trails, just makes this a more interesting read.I am also an avid follower of VJ, and am hoping to start my own journey very soon.
As Julian, I am also from England. Other than that common ground, from what i have read, we couldn't be more different.
Let me take this opportunity to wish, Melisa and Julian the best of luck on their immigration journey, and future life together.

  3. Thanks Alan. I really appreciate what you said there and I'm glad you are enjoying reading what I have to say. Good luck on your own journey!

It's been hard for me to continue to write because I feel like so many people were being so rude to me, but a few others have reached out to me through PMs on VJ to tell me to keep writing and pay no attention to what other people had to say. I really thought about this, because I was close to stopping, but I thought about it and decided that this blog is for ME and if anyone else has a problem with it it is THEIR problem.

I won't name the VJers name (because he/she wants to remain anonymous) but one person said to me they would like to keep commenting on the blog but didn't like to have to identify themselves because they didn't like the idea that Julian (who is also a contributor to this blog) could see their contact details if they had to sign in via google/LJ/OpenID/whatever. I thought about this for a while and decided that allowing anonymous comments was a good idea because it would make it possible for people like this person to comment. THAT is why I opened up comments again, not because no one was commenting. In fact, I did get comments when the comment section was restricted, thank you!

This blog was never meant to be here for other people than me and maybe Julian. I linked to it in VJ because I saw other people were doing the same so I thought I might too, and maybe I would make some friends. Maybe I was naive but I am over being upset at what all the Anonymouses of the internet have to say to me. Go ahead and say what you want. I know I have friends out here now!
